The 6th graders will work with an outside artist to dig deeper into the origins of our culture through artistic experiences such as music and visual arts. Is an exciting and hands-on 6 to 8 week residency for Sixth graders to jump into and explore the origins of art and music and its incredible impact on American culture and history. Mr. Schmeissing (a professional musician himself), with the assistance of another professional artist/musician, intends to deliver a curriculum that will provide new and eye-opening experiences, activities and/or performances surrounding American music/art and how it has had a profound influence on America, including (among others) the understanding, recognition and appreciation of diversity and how it is our country’s greatest strength.
