The Friends of Bell first fundraiser of the school year, BELL WALK IS 6 DAYS AWAY!  Celebrating its 21st year, the Bell Walk gives the students at Bell an opportunity to participate in a fun and healthy event as they walk laps around Bell School while raising money for their school!  Help us make this event a success again.  Last year we raised $86,000! Hopefully you have been busy collecting pledges from family and friends! Pledge sheets are due Monday, October 6th. Your child will need to turn in a pledge sheet in order to be eligible for the prizes for the Walk.  

 

How the Bell Walk Works

Pledge Sheets are due no later than Monday, October 6th

Have your child start gathering pledges from family, friends and neighbors based on the number of laps he/she will be walking and record them on the attached pledge form. As soon as your child has received all of their pledges, return the pledge form to your child’s teacher. The kids usually walk between 10 and 20 laps on the 1/6 mile course set up on the school grounds. Look for pledge sheets and additional information coming via backpack mail mid-September. **Please note, money is not due at this time, however if you would like, you may make a flat donation(s) prior to the Bell Walk.**

 

On the day of the Bell Walk

Students who have returned pledge sheets will be excused from school for 45 minutes to participate in the Bell Walk.  Laps will be counted and recorded; pledge sheets will be returned to students after the Bell Walk so they can start collecting pledges based on how many laps they walked.

Below is a list of the times that each grade will be walking. These times will also be posted on the Bell Walk Page on the school's website.
 
9:15 AM - 10 AM         All Kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd Grade Classes
 
10:15 AM- 11 AM        All 1st Grade 5th and 6th Grade Classes
 
11:15 AM - 12 PM       All 7th & 8th Grade Classes
 
1:15 PM - 2 PM           All 4th Grade Classes
 
Please also note that Bell Walk is weather permitting. If we are expecting inclement weather we will need to re-schedule. We will make that decision Wednesday before school is out and it will be in your child's assignment notebook and/or on the Bell School website.

 

Money Due on Thursday, October 23rd

In order to be eligible for Appreciation Prizes, pledge sheets and money should be turned in no later than Thursday, October 23rd. Checks made payable to “Friends of Bell” are preferred. You may also pay by credit card  or ACH .  After entering your pledge amount, please fill in all student information. This helps to accurately track donations as it relates to student prize eligibility.  In order for each child in your family to be eligible for prizes, you must make a separate donation for each child. Please record both cash/check pledges along with online payments on your pledge sheet and return to school.
